Fun hike for people in the eastern Tennessee area! This trail is not too long, but requires balance and the ability to walk across rocky areas and possibly one stream. It is prettiest after lots of rain but beautiful anytime of the year.
This place remains one of my favorite hikes after visiting many in the area. It is a nice length without being overly strenuous. The waterfall varies as to how much water is present but is always quite beautiful throughout the year. If you want a little extra adventure, you can make the hike entirely on the rocks in the stream or continue the climb all the way up until you pass Bailey falls and eventually meet up with Viking Mountain road.
Loved this trail. It is the first I have taken in this area and it is beautiful. Its a challenge but not too hard. I would rate it a 3 on a scale of 1-10 for someone in average physical condition. I look forward to doing it again and many or the surrounding trails.
I took the left trail to the falls marked by the 0.7 mile sign. It was a fun, short trail with beautiful scenery. Some sections of the path I followed are medium-sized rocks, so I wouldn't suggest bringing your clumsy friends. There's also a few sections that are a tad steep. You see people once in a while, but not too much. It took about 2-3 hours round-trip with much pausing taking pictures and enjoying the view.
Gorgeous place!!! Went there last Saturday, definitely will be back again.
