Her attitude changed and she quickly said no cats allowed at all. I asked her why, when the signs and postings everywhere said PET friendly. She refused to deal with us, so we went looking for a kennel to place our cats in temporarily. Before we could find a place, she called and very rudely stated that we needed to put down a $100 deposit and if they even THINK we had brought a cat in our room, we were out the deposit and had to leave immediately and would be billed for the whole stay.
Can't say anything about the room. Never got a chance to stay. You see, on their website and all traveling sites, it says they are pet friendly. We arrive, fleeing Hurricane Irma, on LEO, we find out that they only accept dogs, for $10 per dog, per night. Not anywhere does it say that on their website.
As we inform the lady at the front desk that we are going to another hotel and that we are sorry for the inconvenience, she literally tells us, "Can't say I am sorry to see you go."
While we wait for a room to be cleaned, we try and find a place to kennel the cats, with money we literally don't have, for this unexpected turn of events, they call us. We were hopeful that this call meant that they would make an exception. Nope. Instead, it was a thinly veiled threat. They called us to tell us that if we wanted to stay with them that we would have to put $100 deposit, and if they even suspected that we had the cats in the room, they would forfeit the $100 and be forced to leave immediately. So, instead of staying at this hotel, we decided to find another.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Their site and the booking sites and even the sign in the lobby said that their place was "pet friendly" at $10 per night. We show up and disclose we had animals because we are fleeing hurricane Irma on orders from the military (navy family here) and they said it's $10 per animal per night. Then they asked what kind of dogs we had and we said we had cats, not dogs. That's when it all went south.
I was completely floored and went into the lobby to tell her that we couldn't agree to that and wanted to cancel our reservation for free since we were given extra conditions than we had signed up for. Lady said good luck to us getting our money back and that if we wanted to cancel, we could deal with their customer support cause she wouldn't do it for us. I expressed calmly that I was a little upset about this but at least we were able to find another place and wouldn't book here again. She scoffed and mockingly said 'Can't say I'm sorry to see you leave.' That little old lady was rude!
It didn't have bedbugs, so that was good. The people were nice and the sheets were clean. But the building itself was in dire need of an update.
It was very nice ave spacious. The price was excellent.
Not too bad to never have heard of it before
