I was hoping they would be a great fit as the dentists did not lie about the number of cavities the children had. Since, they were honest about the children's cavities, I was just going to have a talk with the dentist and let them know I really would appreciate them getting permission before they do any procedures on my children or anyone in the family. Also, I wanted to let them know that I need to know exactly what my cost will be. I do not need surprises. I need to budget my books too.
II. The front office is a mess. Instead of making sure of what insurance will pay. They tell you one price and when you leave it is another. You are liable to get billed later for services you thought were paid in full. Even when we asked them, "Are you sure this will be covered because we have met our max for the year?" We were told it is preventative so it is covered.
Dr Grooms is awesome and all of his assistants are so pleasant and nice. Everyone makes you feel welcome and at ease!! Love going to ABC Family!!
Doubled checked before procedure was done as we were walking in the back to do the procedure and was told this again. Checked out and was charged for it.
If I hear from them after this I will update this review.
III. They do not have an office manager. It is the dentist that owns the practice. The receptionist knew I was not happy with the way they did their billing and she told me she would have the dentist call me. It is going on week two and I have not heard anything from him.
Update 8/4/17: Dr. Knop, the owner, called me today. He apologized for the delay and miscommunication. He made things right with the charge I talked about in my original review (ref: Problems II). I plan to see about getting my Husband in and after talking with both dentists at the practice I have faith we are all on the same page now. I am changing my rating to 5 stars because of the customer service provided by Dr. Knop and Dr. Grooms.
A good dentist are hard to find and i'm so happy here with their work and knowledgeable staffs

Update 7/19/17: Dr. Grooms contacted me and we had a pleasant conversation. He apologized for any misunderstanding and told me he would talk with the owner and get back with me. Updated to two stars from one because of how Dr. Grooms handled the situation. I will update again once I know the final outcome.
Problems:
Might of saved unnecessary root canal and crown done by previous dentist.
I just moved to the area and tried ABC dentistry. I'm glad I did as they are very thorough and friendly. I am pleased.
I. Dentists do not ask your permission before changing treatment plans and performing procedures on your children when you are sitting right there in the room with them as they do it. They just do them and expect you to pay for whatever they do even if it is not an emergency.
However, apparently they do not care to lose a family of five soon to be six from their practice. At this point, I can only assume that I need to keep looking.
My phone number changed , I missed a cleaning and I was let go from the practice.They fail to mention all the money I spent there, maybe it's not a lot to them, but it was a lot to me. What a joke. I really like Dr Grooms.
